About me:
My
name is William Bittner and I am a middle and secondary school teacher at
Flinders School. My specialist teaching and learning areas are Physical
Education, middle school Science and Health, and studies of Christian Studies.
Background:
Originally
from Bordertown in the South East of South Australia, I grew up and undertook
my schooling at the local primary and high schools. In 2005, I came to Immanuel
College in Novar Gardens as a boarding student where I completed my final three
years if high school studies. My experiences of coming to college in Adelaide
helped shape my strong passion for education, and particularly the holistic
education of boarding students. Subsequently, I have had several years of
experience teaching and supervising in boarding schools in Adelaide’s
metropolitan region.
Educational interests
and teaching philosophy:
I am
a firm believer that all students are capable of success if given the
opportunity to grow and achieve. I have a strong view of education as a social
justice issue and believe that all children deserve access to education. My
personal teaching approach is one that is student-centred, and I believe that
students must be given the opportunity to play active roles in their
educational journeys. I am an advocate for life-long learning and take joy in
constantly continuing my own walk in learning as well as assisting my students
in theirs.
