The ACARA provides a learning continuum that gives explicit examples of what students from year 8-10 should be able to do by the end of their particular year.

Through the year 8-10 programs:
  • Students are guided to investigate the impacts of media piracy on the parties involved as part of Business and Economics (Recognising intellectual property).
  • Additionally, as part of the Information Technology program, I high emphasis is placed on ensuring that online security is maintained through taking appropriate security measures, such as devising strong passwords and correctly storing electronic information, which is all explained on the Australian Government's Stay Smart Online website (applying digital information security practices).
  • Physical Education and Health has also undertaken significant involvement in educating students about digital citizenship, cyber safety, and the wide impact of ICT on society (applying personal security protocols, and identifying the impacts of ICT in society).
Complete elaborations on the four areas of the ICT Capabilities Learning Continuum can be found on the ACARA website.
